RoHS : RS Compliance Definitions
As a distributor RS relies on the compliance information provided by suppliers.
Many suppliers have not yet stated when their products will be made compliant. As soon as this information is available it will be displayed on this web site.
We have taken all reasonable steps to confirm the status of products, which are shown on our website as follows
RoHS compliant 
- the supplier of this product has stated that it does not contain any of the restricted substances in concentrations and applications banned by the RoHS Directive, and (for components)
- the product is capable of being worked on at the higher temperatures required for lead free solder
RoHS non-compliant 
- the supplier of this product has stated that it contains one or more of the restricted substances in concentrations above that permitted by the RoHS Directive
RoHS exempt 
- the supplier of this component has stated that it is not intended for use within one of the restricted RoHS product categories
